Melrose Primary School will not be fundraising for Sport Relief this year. We will instead be having a fundraising day for Doddie Weir's charity My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. This will take place on Friday 27th March when we hope to turn the school tartan for the day. Please wear a touch of tartan and bring in a donation if possible. There will also be a ‘Design Doddie a tartan suit’ competition. The children will be given a template of a person (Doddie!) to design the tartan suit. There will be a winner from each year group and will be judged by the Fundraising committee.
This day is part of an initiative started by a youth group called the Excel Project in Langholm who are hoping that all schools in Dumfries and Galloway and the Borders can turn their schools tartan for a day to raise money for My Name'5 Doddie Foundation. The date proposed for this event is 3rd April however we have the Easter Church service on that date hence Friday 27th March for our event.
